If you were to die today, do you know where you would spend eternity?
Romans 3:23 tells us, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." We have all missed the mark of God's perfect righteousness.
Romans 6:23 tells us, "For the wages of sin is death...." The payment or punishment for our sin is eternal death--physical and spiritual.
Romans 5:8 tells us, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us." God loves us so much, and He does not want us to pay the eternal price for our sin, so He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for our sin. Jesus died on the cross so that we would not have to die and spend eternity in hell and so that we could live eternally.
Romans 10:9 tells us, "...that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Believing in our hearts is more than mental acknowledgement that Jesus died. It means believing that He died for us--for our sin--so that we can be forgiven and so that we can turn from our sin (repent) and live for Him.
Romans 5:1 tells us, "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." It's important to understand that our salvation comes by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It's the only way to have forgiveness, true, lasting peace with God, and eternal life in heaven.
If you haven't done so, would you confess your sins to God and ask Him to forgive you? He will give you the grace to put your trust in Jesus Christ, and Him alone, as your Savior and Lord and turn away from your sins. Ask Jesus Christ to save you and make you a new creation in Him while there's still time.
Learn more about Jesus by spending time in His word--the Bible. You may want to begin with the Gospel of John. In this Gospel you can learn about abiding in Christ, for as He says, apart from Him we can do nothing.
God bless you!
