And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. 3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. 6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. 7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. 8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. 9 The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways. 10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee. 11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 12 The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. 13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: 14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

LEÓN, MEXICO, September 2 (C-FAM) Last week at the World Youth Conference, organized primarily by the Mexican
government and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the main event for most of estimated 5000 “participants” was the Interactive Global Forum, a massive expo with hundreds of booths and exhibits. A tour of the booths revealed what passes for “age-appropriate” sexual education in some UN circles.
Because the venue for the World Youth Conference had considerably more exhibit space than most UN conferences, it was a unique opportunity for organizations focusing on youth to put their best face forward. In the expo hall, there were dozens of booths with pornographic or sexually explicit materials or presentations.

A bill introduced in the House of Representatives by Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., would reinstate a compulsory military draft during war time and require U.S. citizens not selected for military duty to perform a “national service obligation” – as defined by President Obama – for a minimum of two years.
Rangel introduced the Universal National Service Act, or H.R. 5741 on July 15. The measure was referred to the House Armed Services’ Subcommittee on Military Personnel on July 23….
Rangel took to the floor of the House to reintroduce HR 5741, stating, “I have introduced legislation to reinstate the draft and to make it permanent during time of war. It is HR 5741, and what this does is to make everyone between the ages of 18 and 42 – whether they’re men or women, whether they’re straight or gay – to have the opportunity to defend this great country whenever the president truly believes that our national security is threatened.”

A lawsuit against Augusta State University in Georgia alleges school officials essentially gave a graduate student in
counseling the choice of giving up her Christian beliefs or being expelled from the graduate program.
School officials Mary Jane Anderson-Wiley, Paulette Schenck and Richard Deaner demanded student Jen Keeton, 24, go through a “remediation” program after she asserted homosexuality is a behavioral choice, not a “state of being” as a professor said, according to the complaint.
Also named as defendants in the case that developed in May and June are other administrators and the university system’s board of regents.
The remediation program was to include “sensitivity training” on homosexual issues, additional outside study on literature promoting homosexuality and the plan that she attend a “gay pride parade” and report on it.

Sponsorship of “gay pride” festivals has gotten a major U.S. retailer in hot water with a prominent pro-family group — so much so that the group is asking its supporters to boycott the retailer.
After several requests that The Home Depot remain neutral in the debate surrounding the issue of homosexuality, American Family Association has formally announced it has launched a boycott of the national retailer. According to a press release from the pro-family organization, The Home Depot has provided both financial and corporate support to “open displays of homosexual activism” on America’s main streets for several years.

Some of you may have already heard of the new search engine called Yippy. I’ve replaced Bing as my search engine with this new one, and here’s why: Yippy’s mission statement is focused on protecting our children’s online searches.
Here’s a quote from the company’s FAQ’s on their Web site:
What is your company’s mission and focus?
Our focus for the company is to achieve greater good of humanity through technology. Our goal is to bring joy to the world through unexpected kindness and charitable programs for the communities in need. We must stop the theft of a child’s innocence which is subject to untoward influence from web searches on unregulated search engines such as Google. Our first Yippy reiteration will provide children with a safe “cloud” environment where minors will not inadvertently or purposefully access adult content that could steal a child’s innocence before and after the age of reason. Our products and services are for those who desire a protected place in which to conduct computing and online activities through the .yippy VPN grid.
As a mom who’s concerned about Internet safety, this mission statement brought tears to my eyes. I pray that Yippy will live up to the standards they have set.
Yippy also boasts more privacy in our browsing. Google and Bing, eat your heart out. I’ve switched to Yippy, and I’m encouraging other parents to do so!

A Christian private-school teacher is urging the U.S. Supreme Court to allow
constitutionally protected prayer outside the court building after her class was “abruptly” ordered to stop praying on the grounds.
Maureen Rigo, a teacher at Wickenburg Christian Academy in Arizona, took her class to the Supreme Court complex May 5 for an educational tour.
The students stood off to the side at the bottom steps of the Oval Plaza, bowed their heads and quietly prayed amongst themselves, according to the Alliance Defense Fund, a legal team Rigo contacted after the incident.
“Even though they were not obstructing traffic, not demonstrating, and praying quietly in a conversational tone so as to not attract attention, a court police officer approached the group and told them to stop praying in that public area immediately,” ADF reported. “The prayer was stopped based on a statute, 40 U.S.C. §6135, which bars parades and processions on Supreme Court grounds.”

The National Education Association (NEA) continues to alienate more and more of its conservative constituents as the organization showed its liberal leanings at its 2010 national convention.
At this year’s meeting in New Orleans, the largest professional organization and labor union in the U.S. recognized a new caucus: the NEA Drag Queen Caucus. (See list of recognized NEA caucuses [PDF])

The case of four Christians arrested at a recent Arab festival in Dearborn, Mich., is heating up with the mayor publicly blasting the group in a letter, claiming the city “has been under attack for several years” by the missionaries.
The Christians were arraigned today on misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace. All four pleaded not guilty.
As WND reported, Michigan state Rep. Tom McMillin called on the state attorney general to investigate the arrests, saying the Christians were just “engaging festivalgoers in conversation about religion on public property.”

A lawmaker in Michigan is calling on the state attorney general to investigate the arrests of four Christians at a recent
Arab festival in the city of Dearborn, saying they were just “engaging festival goers in conversation about religion on public property.”
The call comes from state Rep. Tom McMillin, who has introduced a resolution to that effect.
His concern is over the arrests of four people during the Arab Festival in Dearborn, where police have been accused of enforcing Islamic law.
The officers arrested the Christian missionaries and illegally confiscated their video cameras, which were being used to record the events, according to the Thomas More Law Center of Ann Arbor, Mich., which is representing the defendants.

A Southern Baptist ministry is suing a Florida school district in an effort to overturn a recent ban on distributing Bibles on school campuses.
For years, the Collier County School District allowed World Changers to distribute free Bibles to interested students during off-school hours. But the school officials now claim that Bibles do not provide any educational benefit to the students and that the distribution should stop.
“If the Bible had no educational value, then obviously many of our founders would have been illiterate, because it was due to the Bible that America became the most literate nation in the world, and it was due to the Bible and the biblical principles that founded this nation as the most freedom-spreading nation in the world,” contends Matt Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel. “It was based upon these principles that the Republic was founded.”

A California school district has decided in a 5-0 vote to adopt a Bible course that will be available to students in the
upcoming school year.
Beginning this fall, high school seniors of the Chino Valley School District will have the chance to enroll in a new course called “Bible as/in Literature and History.”
Envisioned by the board’s Vice President James Na, the class will focus on giving students an understanding of the Bible’s influence in history, literature, religion and politics. It will offer a survey of the Bible, beginning with the historical context of the Old Testament, and then will focus on the New Testament later in the semester. It will also provide students with a historical knowledge of the Middle East.
Students may take the course as an elective, fulfilling the general requirement for admission into California State University and the University of California.
